Chrysler’s minivan just got a fresh face for 2027, and if you’re comparing minivans in Ontario, you probably have questions before you build a shortlist. The Pacifica keeps its family-first basics but changes plenty of the details up front, inside, and across the tech menu. Here are 10 things to know before you visit a showroom.
The 2027 Pacifica is a refresh, not a full redesign. Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims get a new front fascia with vertical LED headlamps and an illuminated grille built around Chrysler’s “piano keys” lighting signature. A new Chrysler wing badge and rear liftgate applique update the look front and back. Buyers can also choose a new Olive Green paint colour and new wheel designs across the lineup, plus a Satin Chrome wing badge and refreshed accents inside.
Ordering is open now for the 2027 Pacifica, alongside the Canadian-exclusive Grand Caravan. Both are assembled at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario and are on their way to Canadian dealerships. Placing an order early lets you specify trim, colour, and wheel design rather than choosing from whatever a dealership happens to have in stock.
For 2027, the Pacifica drops its plug-in hybrid option. The 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 is now the only engine offered across the Select, Limited, and Pinnacle trims. Families who wanted the previous plug-in’s electric-only driving will need to look elsewhere in the lineup, but the change simplifies the decision: one gasoline powertrain, paired with the same 9-speed automatic transmission on every trim.
That sole engine is a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 producing 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 9-speed TorqueFlite automatic. It runs on regular 87-octane gasoline, so there’s no premium-fuel cost to plan around. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 10.6 L/100 km on FWD models, with city and highway figures of 12.4 and 8.4 L/100 km, respectively.
Seven-passenger seating is standard across the 2027 Pacifica lineup. Select trim also offers eight-passenger seating, swapping the second-row captain’s chairs for a bench. Either way, you get three full rows, which matters if carpools or grandparents are a regular part of your week rather than an occasional stretch.
The Pacifica remains the only minivan offering segment-exclusive Stow ’n Go in both the second and third rows as standard equipment. The seats fold flat into the floor in seconds, creating a flat load space without removing anything from the vehicle first. That’s the difference between a quick cargo run and a weekend spent hauling seats to the garage.
AWD is available on Select and Limited, and standard on Pinnacle. It’s a genuine differentiator here: Pacifica is the only minivan that pairs all-wheel drive with second-row Stow ’n Go, so you don’t have to give up flexible seating to get four-season traction. That combination alone narrows the trim decision for many Ontario buyers.
The 2027 Pacifica tows up to 3,600 lbs (1,633 kg) with the available Trailer Tow package, enough for a small trailer or a pair of personal watercraft. Cargo space behind the front row reaches 3,978.5 L with the second and third rows stowed flat, while 914.6 L stays available behind the third row for everyday grocery runs and hockey bags.
For 2027, the old Uconnect Theatre Group splits into two separate packages. The Family Tech Group covers everyday convenience: upgraded audio, a Uconnect 5 NAV system with a 10.1-inch display, and the FamCAM interior camera for checking on rear-seat passengers, including those in rear-facing car seats. The Theatre Group is dedicated to entertainment, with built-in Amazon Fire TV, a multi-channel remote, seatback video screens, and extra media inputs. Splitting them means you’re not paying for a movie system you’ll never use, or skipping FamCAM to get one.
The enhanced Safety Sphere Package adds two new tricks: turn signal-activated Blind-spot View, which shows a live camera feed on the touchscreen when you signal a lane change, and ParkSense-based camera activation, which automatically switches to the right camera view when its sensors detect something nearby during slow manoeuvres. The package is optional on Select and Limited and standard on Pinnacle.
Select is the value-focused entry point, and it’s the only trim where you choose between FWD or AWD, letting you match the drivetrain to how much winter driving you actually do. Limited adds available AWD too, plus more cabin tech and safety features bundled in.
Pinnacle stands apart with standard AWD, the Blue Agave Nappa leather interior, and the highest level of Safety Sphere content as standard rather than optional. If flexible seating and winter traction matter most, check what’s standard versus available at each trim before deciding which tech package, Family Tech or Theatre, fits how your family actually uses the back seat.
