The 2026 Dodge Charger gives muscle-car buyers a fresh choice. The Charger R/T makes 420 hp and 468 lb-ft of torque from the standard-output version of the SIXPACK engine. That is a real step up from the previous-generation 5.7-litre HEMI Charger R/T, which made 370 hp and 395 lb-ft. The new R/T runs the quarter-mile in 12.9 seconds and reaches 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, so it has plenty of pace for daily driving and the occasional spirited run.
The Scat Pack turns up the heat with the high-output SIXPACK engine, rated at 550 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. It runs the quarter-mile in 12.2 seconds, reaches 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds, and tops out at 284 km/h. Twin 54mm Garrett turbochargers feed the engine, and boost builds early: the Scat Pack delivers 88 percent of peak torque at 2,500 rpm, then holds more than 90 percent of peak torque from 3,000 to 6,000 rpm. That spread keeps the power coming from launch through highway speeds.
Both trims come standard with all-wheel drive that sends power to all four corners when you need grip, plus a selectable rear-wheel-drive mode for a more traditional muscle-car feel. Five drive modes let you set the car for the conditions:
The Scat Pack adds performance tools that the R/T does not carry. Its rear-wheel-drive mode can send 100 percent of torque to the rear wheels for drifts and donut spins. Line Lock holds the front brakes for staged burnouts, and Launch Control lets you set a target launch rpm for a stronger start off the line. A dual-mode active exhaust gives the Scat Pack its voice.
The Scat Pack wears a performance hood with a SIXPACK bezel, a widebody stance, and 20-by-10-inch wheels wrapped in 275/40ZR20 all-season tires. Stopping power comes from Brembo six-piston fixed front calipers with floating rear calipers, matched to a performance suspension built for harder driving.
Both trims share the wide body and award-winning interior of the Charger lineup, and both are offered as two-door coupes and four-door sedans. Each trim also offers a Plus version that layers in more content. On the Scat Pack, the Scat Pack Plus brings a surround-view camera system, a head-up display, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, LED headlamps, navigation, and a 16-inch colour driver display.
The R/T is the answer if you want strong, usable performance for daily driving with the security of standard all-wheel drive. With 420 hp on tap and a quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds, it has the muscle most drivers want without the extra track hardware.
The Scat Pack is for the driver who wants the full performance package. The extra 130 hp, the Brembo brakes, Line Lock, Launch Control, and the 100 percent rear-torque drift mode make it the trim built for the strip and the track day. Either way, the 2026 Charger lineup gives you a modern muscle car with the power of choice between two doors or four.
