For drivers who need a durable vehicle, they can rely on to haul cargo around, either for work or play, a full-size pick-up truck is one of the best solutions. The RAM 1500 has been filling this need for Canadian drivers for decades.

If you’re thinking of getting a new RAM 1500, but need more information, here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions we get about this vehicle.

Where is the RAM 1500 Built?

The 2019 RAM 1500 has two plants, both located in North America, where the manufacturing and assembly occur. While some of the manufacturing for many of the RAM models occurs in Mexico, at the Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant, the bulk of the manufacturing and final assembly of the 1500 series occurs at the Warren Truck Assembly plant in Warren, Michigan, USA.

Only the 1500 Laramie has some of the manufacturing and final assembly in Mexico, and that’s for 1500 Laramie models bound for the Mexican market.

What Are the RAM 1500 Trim Levels?

There are many trim levels to choose from, especially if you’re looking for something all-new for 2019. Going from entry-level to high-end, drivers can choose from the following trims:

• Limited

What Are the RAM 1500 Engine Options & Specs?

There are two engine options. The lowest three trims, the Tradesman, SXT, and Big Horn have the 3.6L Pentastar VVT V6 Engine with eTorque. The Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited have the 5.7L HEMI VVT V8 Engine.

It’s important to note that for the Tradesman, SXT, and Big Horn, there is an option to upgrade to the more powerful HEMI engine at an additional cost. Even the higher-end trims can upgrade to a HEMI engine with additional, optional features, such as added eTorque.

How Much Does the RAM Weigh?

This depends on which trim you choose and the size of the trim. On the low end, a Tradesman with a smaller cab and standard engine will weigh 2,176kgs (4,800lbs).

On the other hand, a RAM 1500 Limited with all the bells and whistles for the engine and cab weighs 2,373kgs (7,436lbs). The figure changes a lot based on cab and engine choices and is far from fixed.

How Much Can a RAM 1500 Tow?

The choice of cab size can affect the dimensions of the box length. For example, The RAM Tradesman, with a Crew Cab, means you will get a box length of 5’7”. However, if you have a Quad Cab, then you’ll wind up with a 6’4” box length.
